Dynamo6: international innovation and expansion

In 2022, Te Waka featured Dynamo6 in a story celebrating its 10th year in business. At the time the company had plans to scale up by expanding its overseas reach and was in the process of designing an office space in Hamilton to support its growing team.

Walking through Dynamo6’s new office space just over one year later, there’s no doubt that the Hamilton-based tech company is going from strength to strength as it grows its international portfolio of projects, including providing some support for Fisher & Paykel Appliances’ latest Kitchen Assistant innovation.

Through its rapid expansion, Dynamo6 has chosen to stay located in the Waikato, leveraging the quick commute to Auckland, good school options and great quality of life that creates an ideal environment for both professional and personal growth.

Looking out from the office, it features a stunning view overlooking the Waikato River and inside boasts a full-sized mural painted by one of its talented team members; staying in the region has played an important role in its ability to attract and retain top-tier talent.

Talent is an important part of Dynamo6’s strategic growth, and it has found through its recent recruitment, five newly created roles and employees since 2022, there is plenty of great local talent. Most of the company's employees choose to live locally and stay with the company for many years. The average length of service is an impressive 4.5 years.

High levels of staff retention are a testament to the variety of exciting projects and the supportive and flexible culture Dynamo6 offers. Most of the Dynamo6 team are senior-level experts, with many dedicating several years to the company; examples of this long-term retention are one team member who moved to the UK and has continued to work remotely at Dynamo6 for the last 5years, and another who celebrated their tenth year working with the firm.

Those in the early stages of their careers have progressed rapidly at Dynamo6, thanks to the opportunities and range of projects available. The wide variety of work that Dynamo6 offers its team, spans workplace productivity, cybersecurity, cloud services and software development.

The company’s commitment to innovation and clever solutions that in the words from its website, “shake up the status quo”, has seen it grow in international and government markets. As the first business founded in the Waikato to become a Google Cloud Partner in 2018, they have stayed ahead of the curve and grown the range of services they offer, evidenced further by its Financial Times ranking as an APAC 500 high-growth company for the last three years.

While the company started in cloud engineering, its services have expanded into cybersecurity and software development services. Dynamo6’s most recent project is with Fisher and Paykel Appliances, supporting its latest Kitchen Assistant innovation, involving developing new software into a connected globally used app for smart kitchen appliances.

Dynamo6 is a fantastic example of the Waikato region’s rapidly growing and evolving tech sector that has the potential to shape the future. Learn more and keep up to date with Dynamo6 here: https://www.dynamo6.com/
